Leadership Roles
Previously, I was a head coach for Girls on the Run. Girls on the Run is an international life-changing program that works with elementary and middle school girls to promote empowerment and life-skills while teaching them to be more joyful and confident. The video to the left gives a better overview.

I guided 15-20 girls through interactive lesson plans two times a week to prepare them mentally, physically, and socially for a 5k that happened at the end of our season.

Being a coach for this taught me just how important it is to teach children from a young age that it is important to have a well-rounded health, including physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. It taught me how to become a leader and be more confident while working with kids.

My past sorority, Gamma Phi Beta, raises money for Girls on the Run every year for their philanthropy as well. This allowed the sorority to raise over $25,000 in 2021 alone for the local and international Girls on the Run programs.
Starting in August 2021, I was a Clemson University Welcome Leader. During this week long event, I directed 20 new Clemson students throughout campus and took them to new member events and ceremonies. To the right is a picture of me with some of the other Welcome Leaders.

Welcome Week is designed to help new students arriving at Clemson become more familiar with the campus and surrounding areas, as well as meet their peers.

This program taught be how to be a leader and how to branch out and meet new people. After this training and completing the program, I felt more confident in my ability to lead, while also coming up with organized plans and thinking quick on my feet when plans got changed last minute.

Volunteer Experience

Throughout high school and whenever I have a chance to go to my hometown, I still volunteer for Special Olympic activities and events.

Special Olympics is a sports organization for both children and adults who have disabilities. I attached a link to the website to the left to learn more.

This program is absolutely amazing. I met some awesome kids and have watched them grow into amazing adults. I have seen lives change right in front of me and watched people feel included and like they were genuinely understood. It previously has and still helps me to gain a better perspective on the world today and see how disabilities do not define us or change who we are at heart.
Observation Hours
From August 2022 until November 2022, I was an intern for the pediatric Care Center in Greenville, South Carolina. The Care Center is a pediatric occupational, speech, and physical therapy office. I mostly worked with the 4 occupational therapists in the office, but also got to shadow over physical and speech therapy sessions too.

While in this office, I managed to complete almost 190 hours of experience, whether it meant shadowing, coming up with project ideas or weekly themes for the patients, working directly with the patients, or any other administrative tasks necessary.

Being an intern at this establishment taught me how to be patient, yet stern, to be an amazing leader that helps patients grow, taught me to be more sensitive to other's feelings, showed me the importance of organization and how to be a hard worker that creates individualized plans and treatments for each patient.
